Community outreach
Community outreach is important to us at A Polished Man, as our owners benefited from such service growing up. As we considered how we could give back, it was quite easy to see a connection to young boys. Specifically, we have chosen boys of color and those who will be first generation college graduates. Charles was both and knows firsthand how important it was to have confidence to reach his full potential.
Charles was a shy boy that grew up to be a shy man, and it was only when he was encouraged by others to be himself that he came out of his shell. As he grew into his own, he began to form his personality, his style and his look. Bow ties became one of his staples. As he grew more comfortable, he added pocket squares and they became his favorite. As a principal, he saw how young boys lit up when he approached them, eager to shake his hand and look him in the eyes, as they had been taught. And it make Charles super proud when boys would ask to take a picture with him when they wore their special bow tie on picture day.
our Confidence Box Initiative
With our Confidence Box Initiative, we will gift young boys a set of accessories that we believe will help them start to build their identity, their style, and their confidence. To bolster this new or added confidence, we will provide a set of daily confidence cards that show inspirational style along with words of affirmation. Partnering with community groups and local schools, we are excited to invest in one boy at a time with confidence box.Â
WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER.Â
For every 10 boxes sold A Polished Man will donate an additional box to a young boy in the community.
